Last week I was invited by Mrs. Chaplow (my third grade teacher) to be a speaker for career day at TurnerElementary school.I attended TurnerElementary school.I was really excited to go back and present to the kids about my “career.”
I went into school with my orange rocketship and Fox gear. Right when I signed in at the front office word was going around that someone had a dirt bike out in the parking lot.I presented to the first, second, and third grade classes.I was a bit nervous at first, but then I loosened up and let it flow.“C’mon its just little kids,” I kept telling myself! The kids loved it, and some of them even knew about motocross! After I was done explaining to them about my bike, gear, training, and what it takes to moto, a few of the kids shouted, “are you gonna ride it?”I am thinking to myself, there is no way that I am going to be allowed to do this! Then a teacher pipes in “could you?It is your career and the kids want to see.”Well say no more!I threw on my helmet, hopped on my bike, rode wheelies around the parking lot, and jumped the speed bumps. The kids were jumping, screaming, and clapping! They were really getting into it!You would’ve thought they were at motocross race!
All in all my day went awesome.I would like to thank the staff and students at Turner Elementary for letting come in and do my thing!I look forward to coming back next year!
